The objective of this thesis was the transfer of 3D CAD models from a CAD system into a VR environment. In the thesis, a review of existing literature defines the methods of model transfer and the challenges present in such transfers. The methodology outlines the criteria for the transfer and the programs that will be used in the thesis. Then, based on the defined criteria, the methods of implementation are defined, and based on these definitions, an application and scripts for transferring the mates of CAD models are developed. Using the application and scripts, three different CAD models are transferred from the CAD system into the VR environment. After the transfer, the results are analyzed, and the transferred models are subsequently adjusted if necessary. At the end of the thesis, a review of the transfer is conducted, discussing its advantages and disadvantages, and recommendations for further work are provided.
