Summary:

The topic of this thesis is development of educational set for additive manufacturing based on FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) process. Additive manufacturing (AM) is a relatively new production technology with unique production and design possibilities. Due to the novelty of the technology, as well as the additive way of making the product, new users often do not understand its possibilities and characteristics. The aim of the educational set is the development of physical 3D models that will represent the characteristics of AM and serve for educational purposes to new and existing users to show the technical and design possibilities of AM. In the first chapter of this thesis additive manufacturing and the FDM process are explained through literature review. After getting acquainted with additive manufacturing technology, the key characteristics for understanding additive manufacturing and the possibilities and limitations in the design process were identified and described for the example of the FDM process. Before defining the size of educational set, the methods of knowledge representation used for educational set were given through review of literature. After that, educational set was made and described. Educational set consists of physical 3D models and descriptive cards.
