Biography:

Krešimir Osman works today at University of Applied Sciences in Zagreb, Electrical Engineering section, Department for Common Exams in Electrical Engineering.

Krešimir Osman was born on 1973 in Zagreb, Croatia where he finished elementary and high school, High school of engineering „Fran Bošnjaković“. On 1992 he starts to attend Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, Zagreb, where he graduate twice 1997 as a Bachelor of Science on VI degree program, and 1999 as Diploma Engineer on VII degree program, both on field: Mechanical engineering. During the study he got two awards, Rector Award 1998 and Award of FMENA, 1999 year for the best student project.

From 2000 to 2007 he worked as mechanical designer of HVAC, gas and water supply systems and building automation in company “I.B.R. INŽENJERING Cirković”, Zagreb. Also from 2005 to 2007 he worked as mechanical designer – associate employee as mechanical designer of embodiment and detail design of electrical device housing in company “Promatis”, Zagreb.

From 2005 to 2007 year he worked on Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb, as an associate teaching assistant on Department of Design, Chair of Machine Elements.

From 2007 to 2014 he has been employed as a research assistant on the same faculty on Department of Design, Chair of Design and Product Development on the research project supported by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia: „Models and methods in knowledge management in product development“. From 2007 to 2018 he has been involved in the teaching at the study of Mechanical Engineering section and Informatics section at the University of Applied Sciences in Zagreb.

Also from 2014 to 2017 he worked as an associate senior teaching assistant on Department of Design, Chair of Design and Product Development.

From 2017 he started to work as an associate senior teaching assistant on Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb on Chair of Fundamental Courses.

During the year 2009 he attended an international two-week PhD seminar “European Summer School on Engineering Design Research” organized by the Danish Technical University, Universite du Luxembourg and Ilmenau University of Technology. Also, during year 2011, he attended an international PhD seminar “TUM Spring School on System Engineering” organized by Technische Universität München and Stevens Institute of Technology from New Jersey, USA. From 2016 to 2018 he attended several international seminars in the field of engineering design, mechanics and mechanisms.

From 2008 to 2014 he took an active part in the organisation of the international scientific DESIGN conferences in Cavtat, Croatia. 

In 2011 he acquired the M.Sc. degree at Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb with master thesis titled "Control of Air Conditioning Facility in Office Building", field: Electrical Engineering, profile: Control Engineering and Automatization. In 2002 he becomes a PhD student at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb, field: Mechanical Engineering, profile: Theory of Engineering Design, where he defended the doctoral thesis titled "Development of Technical Systems Based on Behaviour Prediction of System Architecture" in 2014.

In 2017 he has elected in scientific title: research associate, scientific area: technical sciences - field mechanical engineering.

As an author or co-author he has published about 30 scientific (journal and conference) and professional papers.

He has good command of the English language and basic knowledge of German language.
