Engineering knowledge management and information exchange in complex product development are demanding tasks regarding dynamic nature of the development process caused by multiple formal and informal interactions between involved participants (human and computer based). Exiting methods and tools only partially support requirements of these procedures. The goal of the project was to enhance existing methods and tools by integration as a presumption for the creative development. Development of the computational design synthesis methods and tools, engineering design ontology, knowledge capture and annotation tools and information interoperability methods were in the core of the research and development objectives of the project.
