This master's thesis is made in cooperation with ALU-KON d.o.o., whose business primarily focuses on glass and aluminium curtain walls and aluminium windows and doors. Types of curtain walls and the principles for the design of aluminium-glass curtain walls are explained in this master's thesis. The company ALU-KON d.o.o., has internally designed and developed systems for aluminium-glass curtain walls. In this master’s thesis, the existing systems have been redesigned and upgraded to conform to modern demands for aluminium glass curtain walls, specifically those concerning heavy triple glazed isolation glass units and low coefficients of heat transfer. Also, new structurally glazed systems for aluminium-glass curtain walls have been designed, which have an all-glass exterior. In the end of the master’s thesis, a numerical calculation has been made to determine the coefficients of heat transfer in the redesigned profile systems and a stress analysis has been made on some parts using finite elements method.
