Summary:

The thesis presents the development of a smart device for radiator valve control. The paper begins with an overview of different types of heads, focusing on smart heads with remote temperature regulation and the technologies that are used for this. Special attention is paid to the characteristics of the design and what it is that makes a device suitable for use for various groups of people. An overview of the market and patents is given and based on collected information, interviews are conducted with the purpose of determining user habits and preferences related to design in order to determine needs of one such device. After that, all the components of one such device are shown on the example of two existing devices that have been disassembled. Using them, the functional structure and model of relations of the new product were created and a morphological matrix was generated, which was used to create four different concepts. Based on their evaluation, one was chosen for further development. All components essential for determining the dimensions of the final product are defined, while for others that have no influence on that, enough space is left for their placement. The final product consists of two parts that enable an overview of the data, easy management of various options and the possibility of not necessarily controlling it over the radiator itself. In addition, unlike other smart heads, it is not dependent on additional units or the Internet connection, thus representing a combination between non-smart and smart heads.
